CAROLINE EVANS

Caroline Evans is the Finance Director at Carpe Diem Legal. She is legally qualified and has the advantage of previously being a candidate, registered with a Recruitment Consultancy and a Client, recruiting legal specialists for Private Practice.

She has worked for national law firms, and smaller niche practices where budgets, priorities and working practises have been quite different. In legal practice, Caroline has undertaken a number of legal disciplines, for in-house legal departments and also had a spell working at a busy Barristers Chambers.

This personal experience has been a distinct advantage in enabling her to interpret client needs and candidate aspirations from a rare perspective. She regularly works closely with Partners and Practice Managers, helping to bring projected expansions into fruition and gets real satisfaction from helping legal people to fulfil their aspirations.

Caroline worked for a national recruitment consultancy for 3 years, specialising in the legal recruitment of fee earners, for both private practice and in-house legal departments, prior to setting up Carpe Diem Legal with Deborah.

KELLY TURNER

After completing her studies at Oldfield Girls School and Filton College, Kelly began her career in large organisations such as the MOD, and the Magistrates Courts, moving on to work as an in-house legal assistant. It was whilst at the Magistrates Courts that she started her ILEX studies and after 4 ½ years she has completed her final exams, and qualified as a MILEX in August 2007.

Kelly felt a change in direction was needed and joined Carpe Diem Legal, where she felt her legal knowledge could be a benefit to her role as a specialist recruitment consultant. She has quickly found that her legal knowledge and experience has enabled her to understand the candidates' needs and to know what candidates' are looking for and can achieve on a more involved level.

Kelly spends a large amount of time socialising and travelling. If she has any time left she makes an appearance at the gym.

DEBORAH SAW

Deborah Saw is Operations Director at Carpe Diem Legal. She has over 15 years experience in HR, Recruitment and Office Management in both the competitive and challenging Commercial sphere and the progressive and specialist legal market.

She has undertaken the IPD and has sound experience of legal issues surrounding employment and HR.

Having worked in a very target driven environment previously, Deb knows that the relationship between Consultant and Candidate/Client can be taken lightly and she knows how to make a difference, having worked in environments where sadly fees have been and indeed remain a higher priority than people.

Deborah has worked alongside HR Departments in many industries, as an extension to the HR provision, providing new candidates within tight deadlines and at the right level for the business.

She has successfully steered recruitment teams in both temporary and permanent business.

MEL TONKIN

Originally from Falmouth in Cornwall, Mel achieved 'A' Levels in English Language, Geography and Maths, before moving to Bristol to begin her degree in Cultural and Media Studies at UWE. Since graduating in 2003, Mel has worked in recruitment in various industries, beginning as a Resourcer in the construction industry and quickly moving into the role of Consultant.

Mel joined Carpe Diem Legal, as a consultant, in July 2007. In her spare time she heads to the Coast and enjoys spending weekends in Devon and Cornwall.. She also likes reading, both fiction and non-fiction, and going to the theatre and cinema. She loves live music and shows.
