Carpe Diem Legal was founded by two Legal Recruiters, Caroline Evans and Deborah Saw, both of whom have worked for many years undertaking recruitment on a local and national basis.
Carpe Diem Legal was conceived from the Directors’ realisation that, by having direct control of the way things are done, they can offer a higher level of service to candidates and clients alike. Deliberately steering away from quotas, targets and commission based earnings, CDL's consultants are concerned about finding the right people for the right job.
We know that there are lots of consultancies who advertise legal vacancies. We know that there are lots of consultancies who suggest that they have specific market knowledge, which gives them and in turn you, the advantage. We also know that there are lots of consultancies who say that they provide tailored services.
So why are we different and why should you trust us to make a difference? You will soon recognise that:
- We only advertise real vacancies - not generic ones, simply to gain candidates - frankly we don’t need to.
- We really do have the experience to be able to offer advice and support specific to the profession. We perhaps are more unique than most, since our Consultants have worked in Legal Recruitment, Private Practice and HR, enabling us to offer a very understanding approach to recruitment within the legal profession.
- We are not target or commission driven and therefore offer attractive fees, which give us an advantage when building relationships with recruiters who have strict budgets and that can often give our candidates the edge in a competitive market.
- Whilst we are a "preferred supplier" of countless employers, we are not tied to any and can therefore offer you unbiased advice and assistance.
- We are candidate driven, which means that we commit our resources to the candidates who are registered with us and whilst we are discerning about those we register, we dedicate our time to getting to know our candidates very well, so that we can offer the best career move for them and the most suitable candidates to clients. We are able to create opportunities for candidates with clients who are growing and progressive and therefore able to tailor their business structure to bring in the best talent to their firm. Having a detailed knowledge of our clients future aims for attaining business and knowing who our clients' clients are means that we are able to bring talent to them without the need for them to have a specific recruitment drive.

We strive to be the first point of contact for all our clients, so that we have the ability to offer our candidates the edge on vacancies and fulfil the clients recruitment needs in an efficient and timely way.

After completing her studies at Oldfield Girls School and Filton College, Kelly began her career in large organisations such as the MOD, and the Magistrates Courts, moving on to work as an in-house legal assistant. It was whilst at the Magistrates Courts that she started her ILEX studies and after 4 ½ years she has completed her final exams, and qualified as a MILEX in August 2007. 
Deborah Saw is Operations Director at Carpe Diem Legal. She has over 15 years experience in HR, Recruitment and Office Management in both the competitive and challenging Commercial sphere and the progressive and specialist legal market. 
Originally from Falmouth in Cornwall, Mel achieved 'A' Levels in English Language, Geography and Maths, before moving to Bristol to begin her degree in Cultural and Media Studies at UWE. Since graduating in 2003, Mel has worked in recruitment in various industries, beginning as a Resourcer in the construction industry and quickly moving into the role of Consultant. 
Caroline Evans is the Finance Director at Carpe Diem Legal. She is legally qualified and has the advantage of previously being a candidate, registered with a Recruitment Consultancy and a Client, recruiting legal specialists for Private Practice.
